Our mission at "A Rare Breed of Love" is to urge people to ADOPT their next pet and Not buy from a pet store, breeder or the Internet. When you buy a dog or cat instead of adopting from a shelter, it's like signing a death sentence for millions of healthy, homeless pets who wait in vain for a forever home but are killed instead.

It also costs taxpayers billions of dollars a year to kill these precious pets.

On this page are photos of puppy mills and a few dogs who were lucky enough to be rescued from these houses of horror, where they were locked in cages their entire lives, never allowed to set foot on solid ground and treated with extreme brutality.
